L-849L Runway Threshold Identifier Light (RTIL) System or REIL is a landing aid for pilots to identify the approach end of a runway and help provide adequate time for pilots to plan and execute a safe approach and landing at night or in reduced visibility conditions.

Runway Threshold Identification Light is a system of two white unidirectional flashing lights, visible from three miles during the day and 20 miles at night or poor weather conditions. Installed facing the approach, REIL/RTIL lights mark the end of an active runway. It is part of the guidance system on an airport

The position of the airport runway lighting products is one on the right and one on the left or the threshold The flashes are synchronized and have a frequency between 60 to 120 per minute.

Runway Threshold Identification Lights are visible from every long distance giving the pilot time to adjust the flight and to make a safe and acquired approach for landing during the night or in reduced visibility conditions.

Runway threshold identification lights shall be located symmetrically about the runway centre line, in line with the threshold and approximately 10 m outside each line of runway edge lights.

These strobe flash at a rate of approximately twice per second simultaneously. Visual aids required with the use of the REIL include high intensity runway edge lights, runway threshold lights or displaced threshold lights, and runway markings. The PAPI system may also be an associated with a REIL. This system should never be used in conjunction with Pulsed Light Approach Slope Indictors (PLASI) system.

  • Previous:
  • Next:

  • • Compliance to FAA-5345-51B and ICAO and CAAC .

    •  Power Consumption:20W(elevated light)/30W(inset light).

    • Low, medium and high intensity.

    • Inset & Elevated options.

    • Modular design, concise structure, easy maintenance and high reliability.

    • Can field Bus is used as the medium for synchronous control, intensity control and status  monitoring.Reliable data

exchange and strong ability of anti-interference greatly reduce  the probability of misfires and false alarms.

    • LCD displays more information with a friendlier human-machine interface.Operators can distinguish between

LED light fault and communication fault, which makes  maintenance easier.

    • MCC with RS485  interfaces,  which is easy to connect to airfield lighting control and monitoring system(ALMS).

    • Auto switch-on after resume of power in case of power interruption, with no need to reset  and readjust the

    brightness step.

    • Comprehensive lightning and over voltage protections

    • Unit control box is able to be mounted on the flasher pole, which reduces construction  costs.

    • The main control cabinet and all unit cabinets have CPU, which works independently and collaborative cooperation

is achieved through the bus communication.

    • Fault of any components of the lighting fixtures will not result in the failure of the system, so as to ensure its

    operation reliability.

•The system has the lamp service life detection, flash missing detection, times accounting and online detection.

•The LCD panel display of the main control cabinet accounts and records the operation state of the system.
